The CBN (Central Bank of Nigeria) has made it easier for individuals to check their BVN with the aid of the mobile service providers.

Those who use MTN, can check this on the MTN Network.

To check your BVN on MTN, simply dial *565*0#. After dialing this code, you will get a reply with your BVN number displayed on your screen. A service fee of N20 will be deducted from your account. Not from your bank account but from your airtime.

This code should be dialed with the same phone number associated with your BVN. That is, the number you provided during the registration.

if you use a number that is not already linked to your BVN then you will get a reply informing you that the phone number is not currently linked to an exiting BVN.
