Mr Ibu's Family Announces Burial Date for Late Nollywood Actor



The family of the late Nollywood actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has announced his burial date. The actor, known for his comedic roles, passed away after battling an undisclosed illness that led to the amputation of his leg a few months ago.


According to a statement jointly signed by Ibu's brother, Elder Sunday Okafor, the actor will be laid to rest in his hometown of Amuri, in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.



The statement described Mr Ibu as a hero and a legend who left a legacy of love, laughter, and liveliness. The burial ceremony is set to take place over five days, starting on Tuesday, June 25th, with a high-profile novelty match in his honor.


On Wednesday, June 26th, there will be a session called "Mr Ibu's Night," which will include a candlelight procession and live entertainment. A Christian Wake will be held on June 27th at his compound in Eziokwe Amuri, Nkanu West, followed by the funeral service on June 28th.


The burial ceremony will conclude on Sunday, June 30th, with a Church Thanksgiving for family members, friends, and well-wishers. The family has invited the public to join them in celebrating the life of the late actor and bid him a final farewell.


Mr Ibu's death has left a void in the Nollywood industry, and his fans will undoubtedly miss his unique talent and humor. May his soul rest in peace.
