Late Nollywood Star Sisi Quadri Laid to Rest in Emotional Funeral Ceremony

The late Nollywood actor, Tolani Quadri Oyebamiji, popularly known as Sisi Quadri, was laid to rest on Saturday in his hometown, Iwo, Osun State.

Sisi Quadri passed away on Friday while receiving treatment at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso, Oyo State. His remains were brought from Ogbomoso to Iwo on Friday evening.

The funeral ceremony, held in front of his house in the Agbowo area of Iwo, was attended by a large gathering of relatives, residents, colleagues, and mourners who came to pay their last respects. The burial was conducted according to Islamic rites on Saturday afternoon.

The news of Sisi Quadri's passing was first announced on social media by some of his professional colleagues and members of the Theatre Arts And Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN). The National President of TAMPAN, Bolaji Amusan, also known as Mr Latin, confirmed Sisi Quadri's death in a post on Instagram.


According to Mr. Toyin Olaiya, the leader of the first theatre group Sisi Quadri joined in 1996, the actor fell ill while working on a movie location. Despite efforts to visit him in the hospital, including a transfer to a private hospital in Iwo, Sisi Quadri's condition worsened, leading to his untimely death at the age of 44.


Governor Ademola Adeleke expressed shock and devastation at Sisi Quadri's passing, extending his condolences to the late actor's family, the people of Iwoland, and the entire movie industry. He urged them to take solace in Sisi Quadri's impactful life and contributions to the acting profession.
